Unique and exclusive spring loaded shoulder joint tension systemThis exclusive and unique shock absorber system absorbs and of load stress from the mount tube and mount brackets protecting your awning and the structure it is installed on from potential damage from heavy wind gusts or unexpected heavy rains. Believe me, I know from experience. I arrived home and found my 34'-wide deck awning fully extended and full of water. I simply retracted the awning; and as it retracted, I estimated some 100 gallons of water poured out of the awning. I will admit I held my breath while my trusty awning retracted. I held my breath again as I extended the awning. There was no damage at all. I did add a sun and wind sensor so I wouldn't have to worry about that happening again. |

Aircraft-quality, stainless-steel cable with internal carbon steel springsEliminates corrosion and assures long trouble free operation. I installed one of those lesser quality patio awnings at a gal's house. She used to park her Lincoln under the awning. She called one day and said the awning fell on her Lincoln. UH OH! I sped over to her house and found the double steel arm cable had corroded through and broke. This allowed the arm to collapse and the front bar dropped hitting her Lincoln. We had to replace both arms as the motion of dropping twisted the other arm making it useless. I never sold that companies retractable awning again!! |

One-piece, extruded aluminum hood with clip-on installation ease. The time proven use of extruding and the use of a permanent molding process for knuckles and hinges is the strongest and most reliable manufacturing process for parts utilized in stressed environments such as retractable awnings. another story. The one piece hood eliminates sag and painful installation with our exclusive snap on components. This is a wonderful improvement. Nothing worse than a sagging hood. I don't care how many support brackets you use the old ones still sag. We installed a retractable deck awning in 1986 for a local architect on a home he had designed. The awning was beautiful and functionally perfect for the application. The owner left the awning extended while on vacation; should have had a wind and sensor. Of course, there was a really bad storm and the cast aluminum knuckle broke. The house keeper was able to save the awning by retracting it the next day. I feel cast parts are too brittle and weak for the retractable awning application. We use permanent molding for maximum strength on all of the hinges and knuckles and our spring shock absorber system to overcome situations like my architect friend experienced. |

3:1 Bevel Gear manual operator for 2-arm awnings and 7.8:1 Bevel Gear for 3- to 4-arm awnings.Bevel gears are the smoothest and strongest manual operator available. The gear has a simple gear, 3 or 7.8 crank turns for one awning tube turn reduction that makes for a smooth and easy manual operation of the retractable awning. |

Tenara ThreadAll of our awning covers use Tenara thread and are sewn using computer-controlled pneumatic sewing machines. This insures consistent straight seams. The Tenara thread has been proven to be an exceptionally stable, easy-to-sew and long-lasting product. Tenara sewing thread will not deteriorate from exposure to the elements. It's an ideal choice for sewing awnings, because it's immune to ultraviolet degradation, the primary cause of seam failure. |
